Cherry Creek Shopping Center, also known as Cherry Creek Center, is a prominent regional shopping mall located approximately 3.5 miles southeast of downtown Denver, Colorado. Originally completed in 1953 and significantly renovated in 1990, the facility is situated along East First Avenue in the Cherry Creek neighborhood. The mall was developed on land that was formerly a sanitary landfill and sand mining pit, representing a notable example of mined land reclamation.
The center spans over 1 million square feet of gross leasable area across two floors. It is currently anchored by major retailers Neiman Marcus, Macy's, Nordstrom, and Restoration Hardware. The mall is managed and owned by Simon Property Group, which acquired the property following its acquisition of the former operator, Taubman Realty Group.
Known for its luxury retail offerings, Cherry Creek Center serves as the exclusive Colorado location for several high-end brands, including Louis Vuitton and Burberry. In addition to over 160 retail stores, the mall features an eight-screen AMC movie theater and an atrium that includes a playground for visitors. The site’s historical anchors have included Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, and The Denver Dry Goods Company.
